When I was first thinking about opening my private practice, I wanted to leave the clinic that I was previously working at. I wanted a schedule that provided a better work / personal life balance, to be apart of a practice that reflected my values, and the opportunity to earn an income that aligned with my education, experience, and trainings. However, when I started the process of opening my private practice, I realized how how confusing it was. There weren’t many resources made for therapists starting a private practice, and the ones I did come across felt generic, lacked details, and didn’t have information that I truly needed.
As my private practice grew, I naturally found myself connecting with other therapists who were trying to open their own private practice as well. I shared what had helped me, passed along resources, and answered the questions I once had. Over time, I realized something - we’re all looking for the same thing: clear, caring, step-by-step guidance from someone who has been through the process.
That’s what inspired me to create this guide. It includes the steps, knowledge and resources that were truly necessary for me to have my private practice grow and stay consistently full.
My goal is for this guide to help you feel more informed and supported as you build your practice. After downloading the guide, if you need more one-on-one support, I also offer consultations to better support clinicians as well. Learn more here.
